  • NUMEROUS Players Needed!

Ok, this is one thread which will include all open slots in this forum. As it stands, we need a British player in the Hooray let's play Imperialism game, and an Indian player in the Raging Dragon PBEM.

If you are interested in any of these, post on their corresponding threads, not here please.

BTW I will post here as the positions are taken.

Ok, the Axis player for the 2194 Days of War Official PBEM has returned, so I've erased it from the list.
    Unbelievable!

Someone just took the Americans at the CivFanatics 2194 Days of War Gigamap Test, so I've erased it from the list.

I'll try the Brits in 2194 Gigamap, if someone explains clearly and succinctly the procedure for PBEM.

I read the FAQ, but I'd rather have it in someone's own words

          1. Download the file posted by the person who plays before you in the scenario's turn order. Obviously save it into the same folder as the scenario you are playing.

          2. Select options in this order:
          - Multiplayer Game
          - Network Game
          - TCP/IP
          - Load a Saved Multiplayer Game

          3. On the screen that results, select the .net file that you downloaded.

          4. Press enter until you arrive at the window where you select your civ. All information before this is irrelevant to the game.

          5. Select your gender and name.

          6. Go to Game Options in the Game menu, and make sure "Always Wait at End of Turn" is toggled on.

          7. Play your turn however you want.

          8. Once you have moved everything you wish to move and have micromanaged your cities as you like, activate a single unit. While it is flashing, hold the Ctrl button and hit N while holding. This closes out all of your unit's movement values. This is very important because if you forget, before the next player begins his turn, the AI will move any of your units that still that still have movement values (i.e. fortified garrisons or planes sleeping in carriers).

          8. After hitting Ctrl-N, save the file with your civ and the date. For example, your first turn here would look like Britain_1941_Dec.

          9. Post the file on the thread along with a report of what you did in the turn, and anything else relevant.

And that's it, pretty foolproof once you get used to it.

BTW you said you read the FAQ, but there's a guide out there too that goes over procedure, pros and cons of PBEM, what constitutes cheating, etc., courtesy of Henrik and FMK:

Back on topic, players have taken the French in the Another IMPERIALISM 1870 game and the British in the 2194 Days Gigamap Playtest, so these two slots have been erased from the list.

Players have taken both slots at the Anyone for 2194? game and the Russian slot at the Bonoparte 2 PBEM, so they have been erased from the list. Only two places remain, so get 'em while you can...

Prussia's player in the Bonoparte 2 PBEM has left, so that slot has been added to the list.
