No need! I'm already playing Russia in another game, so it wouldn't be my first choice, but hey.
    Unbelievable!

Go ahead Darius. I hope you can post the save ASAP, my fingers are itching to fight.

(On a sidenote, I wonder what would happen if Darius suddenly was abducted by aliens or something. How many PBEM's would collapse?)
Yeah, Moe, that team sure did suck last night. They just plain sucked! I've seen teams suck before, but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.

In case anybody is still interested....

Stalin has left the country, and he left it in great disorder: Practically everything is a mess…
General Germanov has taken over Command when he returned from a family weekend in his Datsja in Siberia.

            - The seige of Leningrad and Moscow has been broken in a few places. The German forces that had penetrated Russian defenses have been effectively cut off from their supplies.
            - Kaliningrad and Saratov liberated.
            - Defensive positions west of Stalingrad, Moscow and Leningrad retaken.
            - Two German ships sunk in the Baltic.

In the East: Vladivostok reenforced. The situation there is critical: no defense against the Jap Airforce is possible.

Gen. Germanov vows no further Russian territory will suffer from Fascist occupation.

Aight, bye all. I wasn't too keen on playing the Soviets in two games of this anyway.

The German panzers and Luftwaffe are unmatched in Europe. We have again liberated Kalinin from the rebel Russians. Baku and Astrakhan were also put under our control, and our fuel problems are now solved. As a final testament to the superiority of the Aryan race, the siege of Leningrad was ended last week, and the city has joined the Reich. The Fuhrer now considers Russia to be a mere province of Germany, and hopes to put the Slavic revolt down by the end of 1942.

Another Mediterranian milestone was achieved by Germany this month. The city of Jerusalem was easily captured by our panzergrenadiers, as was Cairo. We're pressing down on the Middle East oil fields, and hope to liberate them in a couple months. Our confidence in the rapid capture of India is so great that we would like to offer our friends the Japanese a meeting in Delhi for January 1943, in order that we may fairly divide up the world. Alternatively, a meeting in Novosibirsk would be just as satisfactory.

Good luck Allies, you're going to need it.

                            Heil Hitler.

                              Washington post January 1942

Press statement from the United States Navy:

Yesterday at 0200 GMT operation Marbles was launched. Using a small number of B-17 bombers an attack was made on the Japanese fleet. According the bomber crews the Japs have already left the Pacific so the bombers had to settle for sinking two submarines and most importantly a wounded battleship heading back to Japan.

A happy president Hazlewood commented on the operation: "In your face, emperor! You can't hide your puny navy from me forever you know." he said and grunted threateningly.

Sub menace pushed back in the Atlantic
Navy reports "successful strikes" but have no further comments.
