how can i play civ2 on line...i just want to try it out and learn something new. i will play any map, any game, you pick it...i don't care if i lose!

How familiar are you with civ2 in single player? I'd advise you practise that before delving into MP.
Or try MSN GameZone (zone.msn.com) to test your skills.
