  • We need a Russian player in History PBEM

We need a replacement for Pap, who played Russia. This scenario is great, so dont miss an opportunity to take part in the shaping of Europe..

Hey, I thought I would take it once Soundwave takes the AH Empire back, which should be this week. If that is true than we need and Ottoman Empire player.

For that matter, if someone has their heart set on Russia but not the Ottoman Empire then I am willing to take the Turks instead, but I doubt I'd last too long.
      Unbelievable!

          Again:
-I never heard of the History scenario
-I have never played a PBEM before
-I don't, at this time, have the MGE patch loaded on my PC

If you are really pinched I'll try it.

History is kind of an improved version of Exile's Age of War, a pre-WWI Europe scenario.

Which civ would you want, Jacobite?
            Unbelievable!

What is available - I'll load my MGE patch tonight.

If it is between the Turks and the Russians, I'll take the Russians.

                    Welcome!!

                    Welcome Jacobite!!

And don't worry, the mighty Italian Kingdom will be nice to Mother Russia...

Actually, we are far enough from each other to be nice...

And Darius: the Turks are not that bad!! I think they are in a MUCH better position than in Exile AOW (I should know, I play them in the Another AOW PBEM... ).

And, as it happens, the relations between Italy and the Ottoman Empire were excellent, so let's just keep them that way...

And one more thing: I wouldn't say History is an "improved" version of Age of War, but only a different one!! Not better, not worse, just different!!
Did I just make 2 friends with Exile and Soundwave with that comment, or 2 ennemies???

Well I've certainly taken sides on that issue. There was quite a bit of wrangling at Civfan between FMK, Henrik and I over these two scenarios. Exile's got his own style and I respect that, but I simply like this one better.

For instance there is the way in his scenarios that the only armies you get are garrisons and a few offensive units. The guys at civfan grilled soundwave for having "hordes of units", but that isn't too bad. As long as both sides in a conflict have lots of units, it remains fair, and far more fun at the same time.

That's kinda the same issue I'm finding in his new 1870 scenario (not released, but I'm in a playtest), but I'm not annoyed enough to be a bother about it.
                      Unbelievable!

As for Jacobite, if by "send over the goods" you mean the scenario whatnot, just download it from the CivFanatics main site. That's the scenario, but be sure to use these updated rules and events files, not the ones at Civfan:

I'm at work I'll get it when I get home.

Edit: I think I erased them, so I'll download 'em again.
