Firstly, I would like to know if there is a version of Civilisation 2 that allows a multiplayer game to be played via a LAN network system - if there is, could you please give me the title? Furthermore, if such a version exists, with two human players do the computer civilisations still remain active (ie two human players, plus five computer controlled civilisations to make up the seven possible positions)? Secondly, if it is not possible to play Civilisation 2 via a LAN network system, can someone give me the name of the standard internet version of Civilisation 2 and tell me where I can get it and how I sign up to play over the internet? Hope all of this makes sense, if it doesn't it's because I have very little idea of what I'm talking about . . . your help is much appreciated! Thank You!

Hi Mansell,
The Civilization version for multiplaying is Civ II MGE (Multiplayer Gold Edition).
You can play with as many human players you want (up to 7, of course), with the rest of the available slots being filled by AI (or not, if you want less than 7 civ!!).
To resume: 2 to 7 civs, each can be human or computer controlled!!
You should be able to find it to buy on the web somewhere (I'm quite sure it's still available!!)! And there might still be some places Downunder where it's still on the shelves, but I can't help you about that!!! (but I saw you found the "Aussie group" on the other thread, so you should get an answer from them!!)
As for playing on the internet, it would be a pleasure to play with (or rather against ) you (I only played once in multiplay... but have been playing solo for years!), but it might be difficult to find a time window enjoyable for both of us (I'm in Europe, so... bloody time-lag...). But one of the Aussie group might be willing to play, and it would be easier!
Anyway, you found the right place to ask your questions (but the wrong guy to answer them, sorry... )
See ya mate (sorry, I couldn't avoid writing that...)Ankh-Morpork, we have an orangutan...

Don't forget the patch. You must download the latest patch to compatible with 99% of the players here.
