Darn this thread's gone downhill since I last looked. By the way who the heck are you Cannon Fodder? Get out of here, newbie, this thread doesn't concern you and I don't have patience for wastes of space like you.
Rah I've never seen that happen before, I've had the contact box flashing when moving units around, but then I think almost everyone has, does anyone here know exactly what causes that?

I've never had it do that when I was moving. And I haven't seen it in almost a year, so I was kinda surprised when it happened. It happened twice in the same game. The first time was quite early in the game and was most noticable because I hadn't met anybody yet. Anybody else know anything about this.

hm, could be due to lag (they might cancel the message that pops up on their screen so fast that you never get the contact), or maybe they have marcos embassy and can do that at will. it's never happened to me against humans, but i've played AI with lots of lag and i would be standing right next to them but i wouldn't get a contact, then they would attack and kill my man, then the next turn i get their message saying "lets be friends" or whatever AI say."Why should I fear death? If I am, death is not. If death is, I am not. Why should I fear that which can only exist when I do not?"

I thought of those things, but..
There were no AI's in the game,
Marcos was never built,
and there was no noticable lag that night.
Quick cancelation of contact is normal in our games. And most of the time there will be king chat following a contact, to try to judge intention (of course in our games it's "attack")
The person would have had to cancel the contact and move the unit out before I could have noticed it. And if it was a 2x movement unit, 99% of the time, our usual group attacks to take advantage of the surprise attack bonus. It was early enough in the game that I only had units with a defense of 1 out on the board exploring. If it had been a diplo, bribing the unit is the normal course. Coupled all of this with the fact that I haven't seen it in over a year, makes be doubt it is a normal occurance.
Anybody else experience this type of thing? I just wish the screen didn't flash so quick on this one.
