since its 5 PM mountain time, that makes it 6 PM Centeral (where I live) or 7 Eastern.......

But then again we are on daylight savings time........so you never know.

Is 14 the default setting for riot factor? Are we playing at deity level,restless tribes?? I will be online at 6pm CST (4pm PST) on Sat.

Yes the default is 14. There are no barbs, since they attack certain civs more than others.

Here's the current plan, and the files as of now.....

I've put makeo along the ganges in India........
I've yet to hear from ras, but I'm holding out hope since he is a good competetor and all.....I've put him in North America on the east coast..........

If raz shows at 6 pm CST then we are all good to go.
If not, I will alter the starting locations so we all start on Eurasia / Africa.....and we can have a "colonization" game. If we have to do that someone remind be to blow up iceland so tritreams cant get to NA so early.

Any way here are the files........download them. Put it in your scenario directory of civ2, make a folder called "dip" within that folder, put in the file......unzip it....it should have the sounds and files......and that should be it!

Stick to Plan A

I think it's best to play as per this modpak and if someone doesn't show and a sub can not be found we play it as AI.
It's the best way to go. There are bound to be some weeks when AI takes over the odd civ and it's generally understood that you do not take advantage of AI. If they attack you seek world opinion on how far you respond....

Suggest you all see Frank's earlier rules suggestions.. as he says riot factor is now normal again but watch your food box, it takes longer to fill.

The Cantonese Empire grew by leaps and bounds, both in mainland asia and the islands of the pacific. Tensions were high when, an brash australian settlement was discovered on borneo, which was marked for Cantonese settlement, however the two empires did manage to work a compromise and avoid all out war.

Contact was also established with the mysterious Aztec people who are rumored to live in a fertile land beyond the jungles and mountains in the west.

Also in a eye-opening event, the heavily armed but apparently benevolent army of hydey appeared in China. Although no attacks took place, his mere show of power sent local warlords on a spree of spending as they attempted to match his army in skill and power, as a result China is now defened with much better equiped forces.

As the empire grew, and the local lands filled finally brave explorers were sent to see the world, and meet our neighbors in the world, as well as seek new lands for settlement. A well equiped expedition charged with the exploration of the west has set out at the King's command, with the duty of exploring the frontier ahead of the settlement forces, such an expedition resulted in the latest discovery, of a beautiful lake amongst the plains where our latest settlment resides.

Concert promoters are calling this the "Silk Tour" One concert promoter in his zeal announced the Metalhead discovery of concert tours to people all across the world. This has created needless envy from other cultures and the concert promoter has been put to death.

Great news! The art of highest musicanship has been made available to all peoples of Metaltopia. For many centuries great Metal God Ozzy the Dove-Eater has had exclusive control over the population. Many have complained that such dictatorial control has quashed creativity and musical innovation. Now a great new system called "The Republic" comes from our southern allies. The great Metal Council has been established to help Ozzy rule the nation. This is a bright day, Metaltopia is the envy of the world.
