  • Triumphant Return!

Well, not really. I haven't bought Civ2 again or anything. I just wanted to find out if the rumors were true: Civ3 will NOT have multiplayer?? That really, really sucks.

The same people that play civ2 mp are the ones that will play civ3 mp. So why does it matter to you? I thought you quit because of the people, not the game itself.

Yeah it looks as though our mp community is getting the cold shoulder........

Well Curumbor Elendil... good to see you posting again in the MP section. I hope at some time in the future, you reconsider your decision not to play mp

And yeah, it looks like the mp community will get the shaft, and that CIV III mp won't be available for some time in the future.

But that's OK... we still have Civ II mp... and that's still worth playing.
      Keep on Civin'

No doubt.......its the interaction that we mp people have to remember. We're not playing because of the graphics or the sound, or what graphics are being used as our leaders, becase they are irrelevent! Until a better subsitute comes along, my civ2 gold cd will still be spinning

We are a small and elite group and we need to stick together and remember that its the people and the interactions that is important.

You should come back CE, even if you take things too personally

Yes, Drake, I did leave because of the people (or person). But I always enjoyed playing with most of the people here. Having taken a break, I would enjoy getting back into Civ with those people. However, it seems I'll have to wait till an MP version of Civ3 comes out.

              Welcome back, I think

              Ok, one last chance!

Buy civ2MP (again) and let's finish the Eurodiplo-Millenium game!

You are a great opponent but I'm really fed up with quitters. Markus did it too in the Tourney, but he's not talking tro me anymore He's got one chance too

HOTW2 survived because we successfully differentiated the OOC stuff from the role-playing. We get upset in the roles, occassionally it spills over where someone just quits, but we recover quickly and the game is now at 1625AD.

I'd rather play ONE great game like this, that I know WILL get finished, even if it takes the whole year. I've started lots of other games this year and all have fizzled so with my time at a much bigger premium now I'm making damn sure I get into games that continue. Diplos are the best and in HOTW2, if someone doesn't show for whatever reason we try and get an immediate sub or just play with the AI - it spices up the game having different rulers and keeps it going!!!

The Eurodiplo-Millenium game has not continued from the point where you quit........... and as in HOTW2 and most other games the consensus rules if there are disputes.
