Euro/US Diff for Civ2 MP?

I tried setting up a game with a friend in Europe, but it complained about some version conflict.

I applied the MicroProse patch to my copy of MPG which worked fine, but the patch didn't work on his. His version was installed (by default) in a different directory than mine. (C:\mps as opposed to C:\Program Files\... for mine.)

Ideas?

Have you tried to change the installation directory? Both computers must have the same instalation Dir and the same Patch.
Once u applied the patch, you can create the required dir manualy, and copy into it all the CIV files. That should do the trick.

here in australia we have the UK version of the game and regualrly play with our US cousins, so yes the patch works and the only problem must be the different Folders.
