  • Labels errors??? Help!!!

I just recently started playing multiplayer with some friends over the UMass Amherst network. We have found that all players except for the host player experiences a "Labels Error" in which nothing is named correctly. For example, in my current game, settler units are called "Leonardo's Workshop", my civilization is known as "Pharaoh", and Industrialization is called "User Defined Unit A". Does anyone know how to fix this? Each one of us has tried hosting the game, and each time, only the host's game's labels are correct. Help!

Have the host send his labels.txt to all the players. Its located in the main civlization directory.

That happened to me just recently.
I uninstalled and reinstalled and all is well.
      Worked for me anyway.

There is a bad patch that, if the host has it, causes players joining his game to have this problem. If a non-host player has it, only he will experience this problem. Just reinstall the 1.3 patch and it should work.

The fact is, he may have bad patch.
When it happened to me was after reformat, and reinstalling all.
I think the patch here at Apolyton may be corrupted.
                Something somewhere is.

We had the same problem with Easthaven. The problem arises often when you do things like install a no cd hack. If the problem is lables.txt is corrupt, that means labels.txt is corrupt. It does not mean another file is corrupt.

                  listen to the logic

                  error recieved
                  Labels.txt is corrupt
                  therefore
                  replace Labels.txt

                  =)

Reinstalling the patch WOULD work, because it alters Labels.txt, therefore fixing it, but why reinstall the whole patch, all you need is Labels.txt.
