  • A new OS civ clone!

There's a new open source clone of Civ available on the net. This one looks pretty good!

Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

I've been playing this game for awhile now and I have to say it's quite enjoyable. It plays like Civ2 but it's different. The wonders have a different function and there's a new set of wonders called national projects. Units now have four experience levels and I really like the military research option - you can create your own military units with different characteristics.

I'll check it out, but that's all I need. Another addiction.
