I found this option by accident couple weeks ago, but I have no idea how to use it, and why to use it.

Where do you get that one?

You get the tracker map by right clicking on the small overview map. The tracker map is intended for tracking movements multi play. This way you can check out several parts of the map at the same time. It was actually already implemented in Civnet years ago.
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

I just use the standard map, which seems to track all moves anyway if the option is on. Am I wrong about this?

I also use diplos a lot. If you use them in the right way they give lots of int on enemy moves, one of the secrets of my success against makeo

I seem to have gotten that screen once or twice in the past by accident, but I didn't know how to get it deliberately or exactly what I was seeing.

Having just tested it out an an old game, it seems to show barb movements anywhere on the map and other civs' units within my general borders, but not other civs' units outside my borders. Doesn't seem to matter whether it is a civ I have "met", either; I couldn't see movements from civ's my foreign minister is aware of.

I guess it has to do with proximity to my cities, maybe like a 2x larger city grid.

Markusf, could you explain how opening screens improves your enemy tracking. If you check the "track enemy moves" box for the normal screen it seems to do the job effectively.

AH, I don't seem to have that option. Where might it be?

Its in the options menus somewhere. You can switch it on and off during play.

Jesus Christ, just go through the menus on the game. The first column. I can't remember exactly where it is, could be where you get the autosave option.

I used to use these things alot.I'd have a half dozen or more at times. You can stack them on one side or the other and make them as big or small as you like.Static view is good for monitoring important locations.
The "show enemy moves" in file/game options does not work in MP.Least not the same as solo play.
The only thing that matters to me in a MP game is getting a good ally.Nothing else is as important.......Xin Yu

Hmmm I would dispute that - I seem to get good info with the option on. Be that as it may, if you stack a few views, say on the side of your screen, does the active one come to the top if there is enemy movement there? I mainly don't use the break out screens because of the clutter. But if I could stack them that would be okay.
