The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

i relooked at it, there´s only a rules.ger and no rules.txt. however it works, but it´s really odd since the explorer line should be ok. guess this is a bug.

Well, I've discovered this bug now. I added three new units in the rules.txt. Then I started noticing that the Explorer wasn't available when it should be. Some experimenting showed that it was expiring with Polytheism!! I tried varying everything: attack, defense, movement...I even tried creating a new Explorer unit in a different slot. Nothing worked - except changing the AI function of the explorer from "attack" to "defense" made it expire with Gunpowder. Still unacceptable. This is VERY FRUSTRATING!! Especially as these rules are supposed to be used in a game on Wednesday.
I haven't really read all the responses, but i think i was one of the first to notice this...It is simply a bug with the MG system. If you play a single player game, you can build explorers thoughout the game. But in multiplayer, it stops with chivalry. Don't know why, but it is just simply the way it is. Warriors upgrade to Pikemen, but explorers have no upgrade. anyway, that is just my 2 cents...you have any further questions, let me know

My (completely unsolicited) two cents: I'm betting this has something to do with 2x movement. Curumbor's problem came when he doubled the explorer's movement in (I presume) a 1x1x game; Kaak and weird god are both GameLeaguers, where 2x2x is the preferred style of game.
I've used it in 2x production games.Not 2x moves though cuz I won't play that.Maybe it is 2x moves but I don't see why.
I still don't think the rules.ger is the one being used.It can't be.It must be .txt to work..correct?
I've seen Curumbor's problem a few times in creation and S-league forums.It required removing the units 1 at a time to find the culprit.Then...geez...I don't remember.It could be worked out but it was fairly complicated.

true, i always play 2x2x. but i doubt it´s possible that the bug is caused by this. any bug detections with 1x moving?

Not in any of my games. The reason I think it could be caused by 2x moves is that discovering Chivalry obsoletes all earlier 2-move attack units. Since the explorer has the attack role in rules.txt and it has 2 moves in 2x movement, it is one of the units obsoleted. Recall that a patch was required to keep the pikeman's defense from being applied against units with one move. This is similar behavior that they didn't patch.
