new to Civ multiplayer

any tips on where to get started if i want to try out multiplayer civ for the first time? I've just bought Civ2 MP and wondering where to go to get in a multiplayer game. How long do the games take? I'm thinking, like , days?
Any tips on multiplayering are welcome.

The easiest way I've found is too download ICQ and develop a massive list of civ players for it. Then you just see who is online and pester them for a game.

Talk to Ming, it looks like he's trying to eek out more ICQ #'s from people as we speak.
