basics advices for an email game

I never player an email game before and I´m gonna join one with Allard, Jesus Balsinde, Stefan....
so I´m in a lot of trouble, could you give some basic advices???

Be sure to press ctrl-N at end of each players turn before they save.

This ends any unused movement of even fortified units so the ai can not move or disband them for you while it is other players turn.

Also due to some ai instigated govt switches while you are "away" you might go into scenario editor to edit king and fix a state of war between players you do not want an unauthorized peace with.
Also you can in scenario editor illiminate any govt swithing when in a delicate form of govt you wish to remain in such as dem.
You can also fix your name and titles and civ in there too so it does not automatically revert to the default ones.

Others with a more complete understanding of PBEM things can help you if you need more detailed info, but you can do a search on here and find it too, as it is oft commented on.
