This period was one of expansion for the Libertarians (Indians). Unfortunately, the amnesiac who ascended the throne, Murray Rothbard XXVIII, ordered colonial expeditions into regions which had been ceded to the Chinese. Nevertheless, an arrangement was worked out whereby the Chinese were given the rest of Indochina in exchange for allowing the Libertarians to build at Laos.

The Libertarian stretches far and wide, from Damascus in the west to Laos in the east, and to the Siberian cities of East and Central Ural in the north. The Libertarians have also commissioned an expedition to the fabled Land of Gold, called "America." Current cartography shows that the Japanese have already begun colonization in that land.

The world remained peaceful, with two alliance blocs currently existing and one civilization outside the alliance system. The Romans, Libertarians, Chinese, and Japanese constitute a network of mutual assistance, while the Egyptians and MLB/Carthaginians enjoy a similar relationship. The Falcons/Vikings persist in a neutral course, following the temporary abdication of Finbar the Great in favor of Noble Moker.

In power, the Egyptians remain far ahead, while the Chinese, Japanese, and Libertarians remain in a dead heat for second place. The MLB have been coming up rapidly, and they are now virtually tied with the Romans and Falcons.

Here is the current state of the world as far as Libertarian cartographers are aware:

One interesting note is that there are five civilizations represented in the Ural region.

Round 2 according to the Egyptian Owls:

As round to began, the owls filled up the rest of northern africa quickely. The MLB was appeased by gifts of technology and far eastern colonies. This led to the 5 civ representation in the Ural region.

The Owls then looked for other places to colonize as their continent became filled. The first ships were sent to england and colonized the fertile island. Hearing word that the japs have landed in America, the owls plan to sail there soon next round.

The Suas Canal was officially established during this time. As of now, the toll is set at 14 gold, to pay for the ship guards and cost of keeping the area safe.

While remaining the world leader, the Owls have been against large alliances. The MLB, being a continental neighbor, has signed an economic alliance to promote African affairs.

            From Berzerker-the-not-so-Enormous:

We have run into obstacles for expansion in the west meeting of all tribes, the Carthaginians from S Africa. This has made our exploration of the Fabled Americas all the more important - but our diplomats have discovered that someone, perhaps an ally, is leaking our rudimentary maps of the land to others bent on colonization

We have contracted a team - Lew-son and Crark-son - to explore these lands and bring us news to establish the fact or fiction of the legends about this land. They have found a magnificent river to expediate their journey into the heartland of what appears to be a vast continent rivaling our own. While we expect these lands to be occupied by barbarous tribes, none have appeared to welcome - or attack - us, probably for the better.

News has reached us of changes in leadership in one of the nations to our west - we hope to establish amicable relations with this new
world leader. Our relations with the Chinese and Libertarians has improved beyond our wildest hopes. And a footnote, we have finally met the omnipotent Egyptians - they have sent their own explorers into the northern hinterlands which we are just now settling.

I'm afraid it might be the Libertarians who leaked the map. I arranged a trade of terrain and city maps with the Egyptians at one point, yearning for knowledge about Africa, but I think that may have been before the Japanese reached America. At any rate, the map posted above does tell all, I'm afraid!

Looks like Moker will be a permanent substitute, taking the place of War4ever who has retired from Civ forever. As for subs for Suas and Finbar, I know Jediscum has repeatedly expressed interest in playing in a diplo game.

The Mighty HYDEY HO great Sioux leader of diplo VI discovered a worm hole and found himself the sub ruler for the unusual MBL tribes of southern Africa . Discovering strong alliances with Egypt and Rome ,HYDEY set about founding new cities, building temples and improving the poor landscape with the introduction of roads and irrigation. These things have left the people very happy . HYDEY now heads back to the worlds of DIPLO VI but I understand that the worm hole between these two worlds shall remain open to enable sub of various kinds to continue. HYDEY hopes he leaves this civ well placed for the futore .CYA
