Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
would you be impressed if you started a game with 4 AI and 3 human players, you got a really bad start , not much land and most of it mountains and hills but you can handle that. You find that one of the other humans has a good start and the other one claimed a bad start, sooked and whined about it and then retired and came back in as the strongest AI, who happens to be you neighbour. At the time of doing this his original civ was in front of you anyway.
I have no problem with losing if Makeo had attacked my cities and crushed me out of the game ,I would have gone away content with the fact I had already beaten him as he quit from his original civ.

This is all my fault
I should have consulted Hydey before offering to makeo that he re-join in an AI civ.

Ho ho. Hee hee. Haw haw. S****** s******. Chortle chortle. Guffaw guffaw. Pull the other one, it plays "I want your land because I couldn't be bothered discovering any of my own, and besides, you've outresearched me and I need to catch up."
Titter titter.

Nah, just Ming's even-handed slagging. He slagged Hydey, now he's slagging Makeo. Ming slags with neither fear nor favour.

I generally (but not always) play peacefully unless attacked, or feel that I don't have much choice. Heck, I've even been known to come upon one of someone's first two non-settlers with an attacking unit or an early unoccupied new city and ask for peace immediately, even in no alliance games. But I think that I'm going to stop making peace in games inwhich I have been attacked first. At least when the early attack was particularly damaging. I think it gives someone else too big of an advantage to know that they can take out an early settler of mine, and may well be able to get apeace treaty with me before I find one of his cities to be able to retaliate. I of course understand that having an archer pop up out of nowhere next to your capital early on can be a bit nerve racking, and may be able to overlook that. But take out an early settler and you are very likely going to be my eternal enemy, no matter what the power graph may look like later on. By the way, I should be replacing my copy of MPG soon.

Come to think of it Hydey was consulted on makeo taking an AI civ - I suggested it on chat and Hydey didn't object!
