  • Ming, Bird, Xin and Rah

I'm glad we were able to get something going last night. It was fun.
It seems like the big race was for the Great Library. You were lucky to get it Xin
Rah and I were both just a turn behind you.
(as you probably could have guessed since the Great Wall and Marco Polo were built almost right after that. Good job Xin!
    Keep on Civin'

No problem Berzerker... at least this way, I didn't have to sit through 3 to 4 hours of Xin beating the stuffing out of me

I got HG, and MC hasn't been built yet. Xin got GL, and Rah got GW. And I got Marco too.
It looks like an interesting game, with everybody going down different science paths

Ha! This game is the same as the last one except the names have changed.

Like last game, map sucks royally: more mountains than anything, with hills a close second. I want to change my civ to the Swiss. Specials at the start were horrible for me, although a few are turning up as the map is uncovered. Three huts total: two horses and warrior code, which screwed me big time on the way to monarchy. Like last game, Ming off to a huge lead on the powergraph, with the rest of us closer to each other than to Ming. Me, like last game, at the bottom. Ming, like before, cornering the market on the happiness wonders.

Unlike last game, it doesn't look like I'm going to get a single square island city to make everyone else rich. Xin will have to use that GL a bit

But Bird... in the last game, I wasn't leading on the powergraph after the first session. I never had the lead after any of the sessions! It just shows you how good Xin's propaganda was

slow start for me, i had 6 huts, horse riding and curency (combined with a lack of trade specials) kept me from monarchy till about 2250. No units at all (non or otherwise), 25 bucks and barbs. (oh joy) Ming and Xin had both there cities down before bird and I had our first ones down.
Ran into Xin and Bird early to slow down expansion a little. Peace was not an option.
The only good thing was that the I didn't take any serious losses to the barbs.

              I am catching up though.

It would have been nice to have both berz and war4 for this new one. But I'm willing to start a new one if we need to
(someday I'll get a non-unit 2x in the opening or a usefull tech) Ming got alph from a hut so he was in monarchy by 3200. Or I might even find a trade special before 3600 or 3400.

I'll be looking this weekend also so keep me in mind.

"Peace was not an option." Hehehe, with that "superhorse," who needs it. Anyway, with rah, at least you know what you're up against on a fairly consistent basis. He sends a horse right smack in the middle of my civ and when I tell him to withdraw b/c he's in my territory, he claims it's his territory. Nice try

Xin, too bad about your starting position. I really feel for you

But again, you show how the little things can make a big difference. You traded a diplo for GL. Not a bad trade. If I had only had just a few dollars more...

My starting position sucks (Several jungles, one fish). From hut: 25 bucks, 1 barb, 3 units but 2 got killed by barbs. I got a barb ship on my shore for most of the game, no other barb units appear nearby. Exploring units all got killed by barbs. Nothing exciting. I'm the third in powergraph so I got to build more cities.

Just for letting you guys feel better, I disbanded a diplo and saved a turn in building the GL.

Well, it's Wednesday again. I bumped this thread since this was the game we played last week. We really do have some options based on who is available... so if you are going to be around tonight, please post and tell us when.

I should be around at my normal time.

I'm in. Unless Xin says otherwise, I assume he won't be home until around 8:00 est., so there's no sense rushing home before then.

Hey! Er. . . I've never played a multi-player game of civ 2 before, but I just got the gold edition so. . . I'm wondering, maybe I could hook up with you guys. . .

I'm not very good, but this sounds like a lot of fun!
