Check the Diplo FAQ for more info.

But basically it is a Civ2 MP gaem where people role play the game. The storys about the game and behind the game are just as important if not more so than the game itself.

Its about playing the game as if it real, and therefore wars are usually only occuring when a valid reason is posted. Aggression for aggresion sake is usually met with the rest of the civs in the world turning on you the agressor. Wars are also usually short and sharp , and not one of total conquest, until maybe very late in game. A few citys might fall, and usually capitals are not taken.

At end of wars, not unusualt to return al lcaptured citys for agreed peace settlements.

So very different from your usual conquest type game.

Most diplogames last for several months, and are become epic stories. Because of this, each diplogame has a title. Sometimes they have sequals and continue in a series of sorts.

So 'diplogame' is the genre, and 'history of the world' is the title.

One of the first diplogames was 'Tales from the Front' after that went successfully players started up 'Tales from the Front 2' then 3, then 4, then all the way up to 10 I believe.

History of the World is just another series of diplogames. Instead of just random duels that are cobbled together in an afternoon and played for 2 hours and dropped, diplogames are epic engagements that take weeks to plan and months to play. These games live on in history and in the memory of those who play in them. We keep records of all the different games, and refer to them by title.

Check out the diplofaq for more information on the genre: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...hreadid=101988

Thanks for your interest btw, keep an eye on this forum if you are ever interested in playing in a diplogame. Since they stretch for many months, we are often in need of subs, and if you want to get a taste of a game the best way is to sub in an existing game before commiting long term. Enjoy!

Both are just actively participating in the civ2 community so shouldnt be considered spam.
