Hmmm... as is my standard tradition...

20,000 it is. I predicted a long time ago it would probably be late July. Not a bad guess back then
    Keep on Civin'

Our host hadn't played since May. It showed. One other player has been playing bad, so it ended up almost a two man effort. We finished 6 under in 4th place. Which was respectable. There were two stacked teams (all players under 10 handicap) that finished at 12 under. They were heading to a playoff when I bailed.

"Only" 12 under to win? 6 under has a shot at 3rd??
Wow. The cheaters in my events are even worse than the cheaters in your events...

The prize fund is calculated after the bar bill is settled. So there was no real incentive to cheat. (in fact, this year, they had to take up a donation after the round to pay the winners) It's mostly a family tournament, (every family member puts together a team) so I would be shocked if there was ANY cheating at all.

I have not and never will cheat in a scramble. If you're going to do that, why bother playing?

Which is probably why I don't win many scrambles.

A scramble is cheating but fun nonetheless

Btw u guys, this coming Monday night is another of those "Battle at Little Bighorn", but this time it's "Battle at the Bridges" or something like that. Tiger and Ernie Els v Phil Mickelson and Sergio I think. I loved watching the pros start hacking the last time they played with artifical lighting.

Oh yeah, I was afraid Ming thought I was cheating at...ah hell...was it the second course we played? Anyway, we both pulled our drives to the left (is there any other way to pull a drive?) and we pulled up in the cart to start looking for our balls (no, not those balls). I stumbled around a while looking as he wandered off and found his ball. He found his and I was heading back to the cart to get a ball to drop and found mine maybe 15 feet from the cart in plain view. But when I called out to him about my discovery, I felt like he was mumbling, "BS"

I am sure it must have been "Berz" or something similar

Gee Berz... I'm sorry you felt paranoid... I don't even remember that incident... and never once thought you were cheating at all. You don't cheat at Civ, so it never crossed my mind that you might cheat at golf.

If I was mumbling "BS" it was probably in regards to how I played the entire the time you were here
                        Keep on Civin'

I know I should say I don't cheat because it's wrong, but I don't cheat at civ because it would take too much effort to learn how. Dropping a ball in the grass doesn't take hours of reading up on computers. My paranoia really had nothing to do with you, just how I feel if I'm competing with someone and their lost ball appears out of nowhere just a few feet away from where I just walked. On second thought, it was on ~#7 at Kemper and I was riding with Rah.

It's all coming back now. I duffed my next shot leaving me a wedge to the green, but that damn wind was ripping through and changing direction so my next shot sailed high and right to the front right edge of the green. I had a long putt up a ridge and didn't make it so my ball rolled back down - I 4 putted
Rah used his knock down shot and avoided the wind and got a bogey I think after hitting his drive into the trees short of where my drive was. Yup, that was it, we were looking for the balls along that road going thru the course near the clubhouse, so maybe it was the 8th or 9th hole. Nevermind, I'm just babbling...

Nice to know I'm not the only one that has senior moments.

The 8th hole was where you where you 4 putted.
You pulled your drive and had to pitch out.

The 9th hole is where we were both searching for our balls along the road.
