I remember some discussion in the MP forum that (I think) concluded that global warming would never occur in an MP game (and thus, by extension in a PBEM game). Has anyone ever experienced global warming in a PBEM game? I ask because I'm involved in a PBEM game where there's lots of pollution and the sun is bright white.

Can global warming occur in a PBEM game?

actually it can. In the Lebensraum game, they had horrendous global warming problems, a problem caused by using pollution as a terrain type

Several people reported MP games that had lots of pollution, but no global warming. I don't remember anyone reporting an occurence of global warming in an MP game, but that was a long time ago and I can't find the thread.
H Tower: it wasn't clear to me whether the global warming being discussed in your link happened in a PBEM game, or in an SP evaluation of the scenario. Also, the rules are somewhat different in a scenario than in a random-start game (open tech tree, for example).

We've suffered some problems with global warming in a 'Crisis of the new world order PBEM' over at CivFan.

Mmm... we actually experienced some nuclear exchanges in 2 iron curtain games... as a result, there´s a lot of pollution around. However, no global warming problem reported yet...
