Actually, 4193, not that I was counting. I did contact MarkG about it. He said he'd fix it. Beware of Greeks fixing lifts. Which would make sense if he were working as an elevator maintenance mechanic instead of being a soldier, but anyway.

You seem to have caught War4ever's problem of St Vitus' dance of the full stop key.

          • For the record, finbar, here's the history...

About 30 years back when in college, I started signing documents (memos and such) that I posted (meaning, tacked onto a bulletin board) with a dash in front of my name. Why? Dunno, just did. Thought it looked cool or something, I guess.

            It became a habit.

When I started joining various online communities, this practice just sort of carried over into my screen names. I was going to abandon it, but found a hidden advantage. On most BBS software (including vBulletin), the symbol set are considered to come before "a" in the alphabet. This means my name comes up near the top of the members list, which is always quicker to generate than a "search" on a given username.

So, it's a "dash" not a "minus sign" and is basically an artifact of my misspent youth.

Finally, let me apologize for impugning your reputation through my naive disbelief that my username could actually cause loss of sleep.

Phew! Thank goodness I've found another mature soul in this place!

Interesting story. I wish my username were as interesting. It's only my homage to my deceased dog.

Not to worry. I probably spend as much time lying awake worrying whether Hydey will attempt 11 posts in a row.

Ah. Sorry. That's the problem with cold, hard print, y'see. It can't convey the emotion with which the effect was physically created. He just sits there and hammers. You sit there, ponder, caress, ponder again, caress again, ad infinitum. Before you then decide to hit the full stop key.

                      • Back on topic.

What really tics me off is checking out the forum and seeing the last responder to every thread is Hydey and I know no worthwhile content has been added.

What tics me off is when people continue fights from one game into another even if it means spoiling the next game.

                          • I try not to carry a grudge into the next game. If someone kicks my butt, and I have a choice of convenient opponents the next game, that may slant my decision. But I don't take it personally. If a person backstabs me 10 seconds after we make a deal, then I'm likely to remember it for a few games. But I've never spoiled a game because of something that happened in another one. I just might be a tad more aggressive.

Edit: Looking at my post, I'm not at all sure what Hydey saw that suggests a drug problem...
