  • Civ2 reading LAN IP not WAN IP for multiplayer connections?

/* For some reason behind my router Civ2 can't identify my WAN IP when trying to start a multiplayer game. I tried forwarding port 4993 with my dynamic IP at the time with (D-Link router) but that didn't seem to work. I got that IP browsing the forums with other posts containing the keyword router and DrSpike mentioned that is the incoming/outgoing port for Civ2 which I didn't know because netstat didn't seem to pick up on it. But I was just wondering how I could get Civ2 to identify with my WAN IP (ISP IP) address so I can host multiplayer games.

    Thanks,

Haha, don't worry about it... I was assigning it the LAN IP address of another computer on the network. Sorry for the incovenience...

And it only took him 26 minutes to do it.
Hydey, you would have taken longer.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
