Our group usually plays without AI's in MP games. However, if somebody drop out or has to leave for the evening, in many cases, the rest will continue on.
What are the differences that you see in having AI's in the game.
For us, the big difference is city bribing... While we don't allow it, the AI doesn't follow that rule. The minute an AI takes over, I start padding my bank account more than I might normally do to make it more expensive for the AI... I also patrol more agressively around my cities near the AI to keep those units from strolling up and bribing my cities...
