  • Wars under democracy

How do you conduct wars in demo? Is it easier in MP than in SP?

If you build lots of Size12+ cities with most improvements and even without Wonders you can still support a good number of troops away from home.
MP is always harder than SP

Nah, just build a lot of size 1 city's on forrest, that should do the trick, have your main city's build caravans.

Use creeping leap frog offense if your cities are not ready to happiness-wise to support a field army.
Build fortress three squares out, stock up, take enemy city building fortresses over attacking troops, leap frog to next city.
But as others have said, once your cities are large, it is easy to support a decent field army.

I am sorry, I wasn't clear: I meant the problem when the senate interferes. Does it interfere the same way as in SP?

No it doesnt, unless you fight an AI civ you can stay at war indefinately.

Yes, not a problem in an MP game with no AI.

With all the rule differences for AI's... I'm surprised anybody adds AI's to MP games. I'm glad we don't include them.

The city bribing alone is a good reason not to have them in the game.

Yes, you're thinking, vet pike on river forest. That horse is going to go down in flames, and all of a sudden you're getting the civil revolt message.

Hehe...........I have never played with an AI in the game, but I can see how that would be annoying.

Yep, when someone drops or quits for the night and the AI takes over, you must modify your strategy to guard against it. Especially for those encroachment cities.

Yeah... when the AI takes over, you just pray to god that the player has been spending his money instead of saving it
