Nah, some people just insist you kill off their last city.

This is a bit extreme but it happens often that I have something like pyr/LH/Leo's/statue/magalans on a med map and 3 to 4 times the city's and people insist they can beat you becouse they have suntsu.

Personaly I usualy give if there is no chance of winning, I like the excitement of an even game not games where there allready is a clear winner, kinda

Actually, I take my hat off to those that hang in there and don't quit. I think it still can be fun and the winner is never absolutely certain - proper MP games (4+ players)
I was in a game once where one alliance of top players was about to totally dominate the whole world but within a few turns that alliance conceded the entire game! It swung on getting critical techs and geographic positioning of armies.

In MP I agree, you just adjust your goals for that game but in a duel it gets kinda boring waiting for certain death

Hey quite a lot of my games turn into waiting for certain death. I have to get enjoyment some how.

Do you mean waiting for certain death? or waiting to inflict certain death?

Both, when its that obvious but you cant get to your oponent soon I'll rather start a new game.

The etiquette should be just like in boardgames:
You cannot leave just because it's getting late and you are tired,
but you can say you are tired, and want to countinue tomorrow...
Then other players should respect that it's middle of the night or early morning, and make a new appointment. (i.e. the next day)

On the internet it's not a nice thing to just leave a game, without asking for an appointment to continue the save. And if nobody wants to save, too bad for them...

                I agree....

When war4ever and I play duels... the minute it's obvious you are beaten... we start a new one. It's no fun for either side to continue when the competition is actually over.

No kidding... But some games start fair, and turn ugly as the years advance

and surprises can occurr. Not in duels but in proper MP games things can change from certain a winner if the other players are smart.

RE Hartster - his other reason for leaving is that his computer screen is pink. I think thats much more telling.
