  • Help! Civ II technical problem!

I've had Civ II for ages and not had any problems with it, until recently. I was fooling around trying to create a scenario a while back, and ever since then I cannot save a game using the drop down menus (can still Ctrl+S) and, more annoyingly, cannot save AT ALL in the Map Editor. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice since then, including wiping out all additional files (ie: saved games) that the uninstall program doesn't take care of. Still, no luck.

    Any ideas/suggestions?

Are we talking SP? If so ...
Do you have any other games/applications that use the Win95 and previous file Save & Open protocol - the one with the separate drop down box for drives rather than the Win98+ protocol that lets you use a single explorer box to navigate all drives and directories - do they suffer the same problem - if so you have clobbered the Common dialogue dll file and will need to replace it

if not - I am devoid of other ideas...
