  • Succession Game - The Sticky Mouse Academy Strikes Back

This one is in MPG…Deity Raging Hordes…Standard Large World.

Simple rules: The only wonder you can build is Apollo.

You may not capture a city with an active wonder.

Sign up and we will start it on Wednesday 18 September.

I will post the save @ 4000BC tomorrow.

Sounds good to me - can I have a small slice please - will probably only be able to play every other turn or so if that is OK with everyone.

The BIG QUESTION - will Ming be joining us?

I can join in. Be warned, though-- if my workload gets too heavy when my turn comes up, I may have to pass.

4000 - We have one science - Bronze Working
        3900 - Hut Horse
3550 - Hut Horse One Wonders founded...Silk, Gems and Fish - not perfect but I've seen many worse.
3600 - Researching Alphabet...we are probably on an island so Map Making could be the "other" tech on the Monarchy path.
3400 - Looks like a 70 square Island...and there was me thinking we should build the Lighthouse!
3250 - Not the Gardens founded.
        3150 - Alphabet...now for Ceremonial Burial.
3000 - Capital building barracks which will be changed to a temple when CB comes along.

SG[1] Next then Vlad...play about 15 turns at this stage.

        All welcome to join

              OK - I'm on it...

              One Wonder Game ...

3000 = Increase Science at expense of food...
2850 = Ceremonial Burial -> Code of Laws
2600 = Not the Gardens trains Settler and starts another
2550 = Temple in One Wonders; Code of Laws -> Monarchy (currently costs 60 beakers!)
2300 = No Lighthouse! founded on Whale - starts Settler, martial law to be provided by Warrior from capital; Reduce Science by 1 beaker so as to discover Monarchy in 2050
              2250 = Time to pass on ...

You are on the list Hydey.
Vlad is playing now, so you will start after La Fayette. The order of play list is above.

I am 'exam guy' until November... so I can't play

However, I will watch with great interest Seems to me that the Fundy approach (& trade like crazy) might work just as well without wonders as it did in the Priestess game.

                            Meh, sorry.

I should be able to play and post the save in a few hours. (Damn workload.)

2200 BC-- Phalanx built in One Wonders. Now buildng Settler.

2150 BC-- Monarchy discovered, now on Currency (trade beeline). Revolt declared.

2050 BC-- Now in Monarchy. w00t! Increased sci rate (now 8 turns/tech, down from 10).

2000 BC-- Now ranked as the second happiest civ in the world by Lord Macaulay.

1950 BC-- Not The Gardens builds Settler. (Having it build a road to One Wonders.) Switched NtG to temple.

1700 BC-- Currency discovered, now researching Mysticism (trade wasn't available).

1650 BC-- No Lighthouse finishes Settler, begins work on another. Sending the settler west to that two-special site (first to clear the jungle, then settle there).

1550 BC-- One Wonders completes Settler. Set it to irrigate the roaded tile SE of the city.

1500 BC-- Passing off the baton.

                              La Fayette is next.

A word of note: After we get Trade, it may be beneficial to go for Map Making. That way, we can explore that island to the south of us.
