I suggest that you send a PM to any of them and play if you get no reply within 24h.
All I know is that I play after Hydey. I think

According to the list (page 6 of this thread), there is El Civ playing after Hydey and before you, but it might be a good idea to contact him and know whether he is willing to play this turn (since so many of us seem to be on holyday or facing computer problems ).

(La Fayette, wondering whether computers need holydays)

      • That's right, El Civ is before me, although as I recall he was having problems with the PC crashing.

Also, the Gits said they'd be back around the 18th IIRC...

So, I remain confused. Just somebody tell me when it's my turn

        • I have sent several messages to the Gits and got no reply . Certainly something happened, but what?
I suggest that Hydey plays today and you play after him, to keep the game going and the High Priestess happy.

            • Only played half a dozen turns as I am a little ill
lots caravan moving without much action although i did watch with interest as a Barb musket attack a barb riffleman

we now have advanced flight and rocketry with robotics very close.

              • IIRC robotics is no use when planning to launch a SS...
but I hope it will provide us with a nice little robot able to cure your illness, Hydey .

                • OK, I have the save. Since El Civ hasn't posted to say his PC is working again, I will play within the next 48 hours (hopefully this isn't a monster ).

and you are allowed to play 6 turns, just like Hydey did
(if you and I play too many turns, we shall launch before any of the others wakes up, and that would be a pity ).

I was given no techs to rescearch that headed us to a SS otherwise I would have chosen them

I just wished to introduce that small robot, able to take care fo your health, Hydey (hope it worked)

                          • 1850, and the money train has arrived. Next stop: The stars.

1850: With our huge treasury, we can afford some rush buying. But alas, we may not need any. Factories seem like a good idea, but we can probably rushbuild a fast spaceship without them.

We're doing all sorts of nonsensical things like improving farmland around cities which don't even have aqueducts yet. STYOM recognizes this but continues with only one thought in mind... keep those caravans on schedule!

Hey, everyone is attacking us? Why do they hate us so badly tha... oh, right, MGE

1851: Robotics>Space Flight. Indiscriminate rushbuying. Were he not forbidden to drink by church law and prone to seasickness, STYOM would be spending like a drunken sailor. 9 Freights delivered to Alexandrie. Taxes set to 0, luxuries to 80.

1852: Space Flight>Plastics. 6 Freights delivered to Alexandrie.

1853: Apollo Program in Salamis. Plastics>Atomic Theory (we are a long way from Superconductor ) 6 Freights delivered to Pi-Ramesses.

                            Babylonians steal Plastics

1854: Peace with Chinese. 8 Freights delivered to Alexandrie.

1855: Atomic Theory>Nuclear Fission. Stonehenge celebrates. 8 Freights delivered to Alexandrie; science rate adjusted to 0.6.4 to ensure an advance next turn.

                            1856: Nuclear Fission>Nuclear Power.
Chinese incursion near Lutefisk is crushed easily.

STYOM retires early... eager to begin non denominational worship at the local taverns

                            **********
Well, some minor screwups, but work on our space program proceeds apace. I should have avoided Space Flight/Plastics until we had more of the SuperConductor prerequisites - early Apollo just gives the AI more time to steal the space techs. On the other hand, it might be fun to actually have to crush some AIs who manage to launch

Also, most of our decent trade cities have few commodities left to supply - probably I should have met some of their demanded commodity needs, but it was too tempting to keep the Freights going to Egypt. Absolute worst payoff for Freight in my turns (delivered to Egypt) was about 120g.

Anyhoo, those are things for my successor to worry about Of course, there's a nice 2-wide shipchain set up (easy to spot) and lots of Transports in Stonehenge to keep the chain turning.

                            • I am next on the list. But, reading you, STYOM, I understand that, if I play, I shall be the early launcher once more.
Therefore, I skip my turn and leave the honour to Vlad, if he feels like it .
