Does anyone know how to take screen shots? I checked the databases under "Specials" for some sort of utility, but I didn't spot anything.

    How do I do this?

    Thanks

You'll have to find (i.e. download) a screen capture utility - my favorite is Hypersnap.

Press the [Print Scrn] key on your keyboard and paste it somewhere. Paint will do if you aren't planning on posting it on the net, but I recommend getting something that can edit *.gifs and *.jpegs.

St Leo, are you sure it's just [PrtScn]? I thought it was [Alt][PrtScn] (pressed simultaneously).

Either way, Sortub, this is the simplest method. Have fun!

Originally Paint could not work with gif and jpg, but the version that comes with Win98 can work with gif and jpg. I'm not sure about Win95. And as far as I remember it's just [print screen], but maybe they both work.

Just tried it out [PrtScrn] works and captures the whole screen to the pasteboard - the version of Paint in (my) Win95 will only handle (r different species of) bitmaps - no jpeg or gif
I use PaintShopPro isn't there a shareware version of this available somewhere?

In that case jpeg/gif support must have been added to Paint in Win98. Anyway, you can get a 30 day trial version of Paintshop Pro at www.jasc.com
