  • Unhappy people

    I've been checking out these forums for a while, but never had any reason to participate myself. I play on Deity level, and have almost won my first conquest game (one city left). When I started playing King elvel, I think, I saw these unhappy citizens that were black instead of red. They showed up when I had lots of cities and not in the beginning. In my latest game some of the cities I captured were unhappy red and black citizens. It's not really a problem, but I'm a curious. I tried to check out if there was an old thread, but there were 46 pages.

    there are 2 kinds of unhappy ppl
    the normal unhappy ones(=the red)
    and the very unhappy ones(=the black)

    If you have a black citizen and you do something to make it 1 point more happy you get a red citizen and for a second happines point you can make them content.

    ==>happy=+1
    ==>content=0
    ==>unhappy=-1
    ==>very unhappy=-2

    something like this.

      Shade is right, but here are some more details:

      Very unhappy people can't be made content by martial law alone. You must use luxuries, wonders, or city improvements to change them from black to red, then you can change them to blue.

      Two luxuries, hanging gardens, or cure for cancer will change a black citizen directly to light blue (very unhappy to happy). This means your citizens can actually become happier as you increase the number of cities; it also leads to cities becoming happier when you move martial law units out of the city.

          most of the time, black guys disdappear at once when you turn one citizen into an entertainer.

          the basic idea was cool, but it was applied poorly, so black citizens aren't really that much of a problem

                and klicking one time on the entertainer gives you a taxmen,two times gives you a scientist and one more click and you are back at the entertainer.
                (little sidenote:entertainers are something you can have from the first citizen of your city,to have a scientist or taxmen you need at least 5 citizens in your city.)

                most of the time, black guys disdappear at once when you turn one citizen into an entertainer.
                yep but the same happens to 5 red ppl when they bug you(luckily otherwise it would be hard playing ICS on diety==> after a while all citizens start black )
