  • An Ultimate Succession Game Challenge

Hey, I was once known as FireDragon, and SilverDragon before that, for any of you that might remember me. This is a scenario succession game, so don't be surprised at anything. I helped out the AI a bit, so hopefully this will be a good game. This was not made with FW, so nothing major was changed. None of the rules were, a least.

I won't play because I know too much. Maybe I'll start playing by the end, because by then you guys will know everything too. If possible, don't play on MGE because then I won't be able to play. But you MGEers, its OK to play as I probably wont remember to check on this for a while.

    Here you go.

Why did you find it necessary to change such a glorious name, FIRE DRAGON ?
AFAIK you remain record holder for most of the smaller civs winning ww2, namely Neutrals, Spaniards and Turks.
I guess you are fond of playing civ3 as the Aztecs .

Anyway, you can count me in (either with 2.42 or UCC) for this one.

I might be interested by this one
Could you tell us a little more about the scenario
Unless someone only owns 2.42, I propose we play with MGE, as the AI is more agressive in this version

OK, you're stuck on island, in case you didn't already figure out. You will also recognize, late in the game, the map. I see someone has downloaded it. C'mon, post a save once youre done.

Yes, LaFayette, I love the Aztecs. And the Japanese. And the Romans. And the Chinese. And the Persians. And the Babylonians. And the Zulus. And the Egyptians. Also, I kinda like the Iroquois.

As you can see, I don't really mind playing with a random civ.

          A couple of additional notes:

          - The AI will be very difficult to beat anyway in this one, so there isn't too much need to play MGE. But if you wish for a really really hard game, go for it. Depends on how much of a challenge you want.

          - You should be aware that quite a few other islands are near yours.

          - It may be difficult to choose between the Colossus and the Lighthouse. You'll really really want both.

          - In the far north, there is a wide expanse of open wasteland you can ICS across. But don't try getting there by trireme

A seriously interesting start -- Babylonians and Japanese! destroyed by Barbarians in 4000BC - have mined both islands to maximise my production to 8 shields - got to 140 AD with a size 7 city in Rep with HG & Oracle - yes I missed Colossus - Allied with the Americans - who are also playing OCC (Washington is size 12) -- not going for any record, but a fun start -- you don't seriously expect this to played as a Succession game do you SD???

I was imagining you building a tiny force of units, taking over the Americans, and then doing your best at launching an attack on everyone. That would have been succession material. But I forgot how easy OCC is.

I feel like playing my scenario now. I wanna go back to II so I can compare them.

Is it to be understood that you people are wishing to play this game as comparison game rather than succession game?
                2.42 then, or what?

I'm in 2.42 -- currently OCC -- but as I have yet to build a ship the point is moot -- just playing for fun, but have kept (so far) a (very) rudimentary log -- I'd go for Comparison of sorts myself

BTW, I really would like to see if anyone can conquer the world in this game.

                    AC: 1776
                    Conquest: 1999

Of course, I knew the map though.

Sorry, I didn't manage to download this game. Which method did you use SG(1) ?

As I remarked - I am currently playing OCC as I have no choice about it -- the chances of this remaining the case when Carthage Reborn is in my rabid little rodent paws is fairly slight - I was only discovered by the americans a turn ago and already I am viewing Washington with greed and avarice!!!

Does this answer your question LaFayette or did you mean a technical enquiry about d/ling?

                          I meant a technical enquiry about d/loading:
                          Is the file a .zip?
Which directory did you choose when d/loading?
(I suppose that my problem comes from the fact that I haven't yet d/loaded any game in order to play it in 2.42...apart from the Rome PBEM where you gave me detailed explanations...that you perhaps shouldn't have given ).
Nevertheless, thank you very much .

LaFayette - the file is a 2.42 .sav file - save it to any convenient directory - I use a sub-directory of My documents for all things Civish - and open with any of 2.42, CiC, FW or MGE -- I had no problems ...
