  • What happens if my machine's too slow?

The discussion about the immanent arrival of Civ III got me thinking. I considered buying CtP once, but the system requirements called for 160 mHerx. My machine has only 133. Would a game set for 160 be unplayable on my machine, or just annoyingly slow and cranky?

I know, I know, I hve very little understanding of computers. Sorry.

But I do enjoy Civ II

I did spend some bucks on the super 750 system but I was getting sick of having to look at system requirments first on every game. Now, I don't even look at that part anymore. I love my system.

750------133.....the time has come for a faster processor.

I think it'll depend on the game.If it stays sorta the same it would be slow and cranky with the odd crash to desktop. If they add alot of fancy 3d graphics and stuff then it would probably not work.Thats when you need the faster speeds.

The net must be a real waiting game for you

I didn't think civ3 was going to be out for another year or so anyway. Delay getting a new machine until it does...and the first of several patches are released.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that buying a new computer is not an option for about a year or so.
