In order to work at home my office required that I install Windows 2000 Professional. And now Civ II does not work, is there any way to have Civ II run on Windows 2000 Professional?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

There are two ways to get it to run I think.

    1. Run the windows update and download and install the compatibility upgrades and service packs - this should sort the problem.

or, if you dont have an internet connection to do this with..

    2. Uninstall civ2 and the intel indeo video thingy, then reinstall Civ2, When it comes to the "INSTALLING INDEO VIDEO INTERACTIVE" screen. Hit the EXIT button. DO NOT INSTALL THIS. If you did install it then do this: If you received this error when you run Civ 2: "CIV2 caused a Stack Fault in module IR41.dll at 0002:019D. Choose close. CIV2 will close." Then delete the IR41.dll file in the \winnt\system directory. Should sort the problem.

I've not actually tried either method since i don't currently have a copy of civ2, but apparently either of the above should sort your problem.
    Not all chemicals are bad.
Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen,
for example, there would be no way to make water,
    a vital ingredient in beer.
