  • HELP! Civ II on a laptop?

    Hi!

My friend is a real Civ II fan, and we've gotten a laptop. The problem: the laptop (a gateway) has no number pad, and my friend says Civ II isn't as playable on just the four arrow keys.

Does anyone know of a way to alter Civ II to make it more playable on a laptop?

    Thanks,
    Ampersand

my laptop (HP) has a number pad, i just have to push the Fn key and the F8 key to toggle it on. of course this toggles off useful features like the m and i keys.

if your laptop lacks a similar feature, IIRC you can hold the mouse over the square you want to go to and click and hold left button, which should bring up a little go icon. release to go.

also you could get a keyboard and mouse and just plug them in (i've heard other laptop civers prefer this method).

Aaargh! Where were you a year ago, when I started playing Civ on my Dell?! The number of mouse-mistake wars this could have prevented in innumerable!

            Seriously, thanks. great info!
