  • China in World War Scenarios...

How to represent it? How to represent it accurately?

In 1941 Japan held Manchuria, Peking, Shanghai, Canton, Nanking, and Tientsin.

Most scenarios don't simulate this because it's too easy for the human Jap player to quickly conquer all of China and turn it to bomber production.

Ways I have seen to cope with the real 1941 situation on the China front:

1.Give the chinese a "fanatic" type unit (no support) and lots of fortresses. Have literally dozens and dozens of these units in fortresses around Chungking (1941 capital) with events creating more randomly.

    2. Make "flying tiger" fighters really high defense units.

    3. Make the remaining Chinese cities super industry cities, with the chinese able to make tanks, ect. Not accurate though, to have Ulaanbaator pumping out heavy armour...

    4. Mountain fortresses defended by multiple high defense NON units surround Chungking.

    Any other ideas?

Also, another world war scenario inconsistency: Ethiopia was Italian in 1939 and British by mid-1940.
    "Wait a minute..this isn''t FAUX dive, it's just a DIVE!"
"...Mangy dog staggering about, looking vainly for a place to die."
"sauna stories? There are no 'sauna stories'.. I mean.. sauna is sauna. You do by the laws of sauna." -P.

You could stick their cities on mountains/hills with rivers running through them and naturally plenty of City Walls to go around.

      Here's what i would do.
Lower the cost of the basic chinese infantry unit to 10 shields, all cities should be able to produce one a turn then
Also raise thier defense 1 point higher than
thier attack factor more bang for the buck
      so to speak.

        - Regenerating Chinese units
        - event created units every turn
        - cities on oceans, so no land unit can capture.

That last one might actually be worth doing. You edit the Rules.txt so that a terrain can be irrigated and turned to ocean in one turn, then tell an engineer in that city to irrigate. Then the only way to capture the city is to have either helicopters or D3 units, which don't apply in WWII. Then you can have the country crawling with Japanese but the cities stay Chinese.

Hey Andrew! Where've you been? What's up? Still making scenarios? I know this isn't the place, but I downloaded your European WWII scenario (great by the way) but I could only get the newest version. Is it possible to get the version before that?

Scenario's name is "Before the Storm" I have version 3.2, any way to get version 3.1? If you have it, can you e-mail it to ChapMan85@aol.com? Thanks. You still working on scenarios or did you go do something productive?
