thorughout history it has been of vital importance to the general to know who would win any battle...

I think that the improved diplomacy model in Civ2 is what sets it apart from Civ1 the most. In Civ1, you had to sit around and hope that the AI would allow you to enter negotiations with them: in Civ2, you finally have the power to drag them up and talk. And there are more options, especially in multi-player.

If Civ1 had the Civ2 diplomacy model, I would probably play it more.

What makes II so much better is that you can play MP now, not just tread water thinking you're good because you whip up on an AI.
        Off the shelves now.
As was posted earlier, wait for III at this point, due in October.

It will be better than I also.

Civ II is simply better and easier to play. I got 2 first, and when I tried out 1 I was completely shocked. I thought I had dropped my contact lenses on the keyboard.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

Buy it because it is only $10, or $5... and it is a classic.

If you liked Civ1 you are guaranteed to liek Civ2... as for why... you will see for yourself...
