  • annoying little bugs :(

Does anyone have any suggestions about how I might solve these two bugs:

    1. I was romping along, enjoying a game of civ, and built Leo's. For some reason, it won't upgrade my units into new ones . I have tried restarting from a save just before Leo's was built, then rebuilding Leo's, with no luck . And I even tried re-installing civ and rebuilding Leo's from the save. Still no luck Can anyone help?

    (When I first posted this, I put "Mike's". I meant Leo's ...)

    2. Upgrading from an earlier version of civ, I bought the civ 2 gold for mac (fantastic worlds). Now I can't direct a unit to a destination more than a few squares away from its current by clicking on the square and asking it to go to that square. If the destination is more than a few squares away, the unit becomes confused and moves back and forwards randomly . This happens on two of my computers (the latest G4, and my older PoerMac 7500). Again, I've tried re-installing, with no luck. Any suggestions?

The pathfinding gets better when you install the latest patch.

You mean it's not upgrading (say) phalanx to pikemen when you acquire (in this case) Feudalism? Or it's not upgrading fullstop? Regardless?

Got the latest Mac patch? It's v 1.1. I think it's still available from this site's Mac section.

        1. It seems possible that you have misunderstood the way that Leo's works - when you make or otherwise acquire a civilization advance and you possess Leo's all your military units are advanced one notch towards the best on their current tree - this only happens when you get the tech advance not when you build Leo's - does this make sense?
        2. the 'goto' command is fairly lousy at the best of times, but it sounds as if you have a bad case of the Greenwich Meridian problem - you are trying to get a unit to move across the zero line on the map ...
        Hope this helps ...

And then there is the most obvious explanation about Leo's. When anyone discovers Automobile Leo's becomes obsolete.

Or waiting for horseman to upgrade to crusaders without having chiv.

The recent patch for the Gold version cleaned up the GOTO problem SOMEWHAT.
