  • New -NON Partisan bug

    Try this:

    1.)Found a new city

2.)Re-home some partisans in the city

    3.)Disband the city

4.)Bingo! You get some NON partisans

  • #2
Was your disbanded town nearer to an AI city or to one of your own?

If you disband a place by building an engineer in a "1" city - the engineer will take support from nearest city. Should the nearest place be AI owned it will be NON.

It has nothing to do with the engineer.
The point is-you get some NON PARTISANS.

        Yes, I gathered that!

Was your city generating these NON Partisans nearer to an AI city than to one of your cities?

The city that generates these NON partisan was nearer to my city.

I think it is the special attribute of partisan

Its not really a bug if the "partisans upon city capture flag" has been activated.A disbanded city will be considered destroyed or captured so NON partisans should pop up.

            maybe it is a bug
The only thing that matters to me in a MP game is getting a good ally.Nothing else is as important.......Xin Yu

I'm playing 2.42 and could duplicate this.. I built a new city, rushbuilt two partisans, then rushbuilt engineer to disband the city and my two partisans became NONE's.

This isn't necessary a bug IMO, it's kinda logical that partisans escape from the city if it is destroyed by player

Yes, agreed to an extent - but when a city is captured the partisan units are not there from the beginning!
All other units would be lost if supported from the city. Perhaps the game intended this to happen!

                  You keep learning.

                    I'm playing MPG.

BTW, I posted it because sometime I read strategy which deliberately builds city to be captured by barbarians-so as to collect the NON partisans. I don't know whether the intention is to save the shield cost on partisan, or get the NON attribute, or both. I think disbanding the city supporting the partisan is easier if just the NON attribute is wanted.

That's pretty cool. You get no home partisans. I like partisans, all the better fro the partisan horde strategy.

This has been a very usefull strategy for me in some game end-years crushing of AI's.
Bag the NONS, fortify them indefinitely in key-locations and let the cities be taken over and over again to generate as many as you wish.
All what's needed is a far-away "tricky-founded" behind the lines overcrowded city.
The Ai's actually created (graciously) a whole armada of those partisans just by keep targeting on the traps.
Even more enjoyable that late "money-filled" huts!!
                        And they're FREE.
