Install Civ2 & FW: explain why this works?
Here's the deal:
Install Civ 2 Multi : Works ok
Look in the registry it calls itself Version 1.2
Run the relevant upgrade to 1.3 : Works ok
Install FW : Seriously Broken
cannot find smedsnet.dll at civ2.exe startup
installing the version1.3 patch fixes this but during play there are problems with things like label.txt being out of sync. And the initial menu has no multiplayer and things like credits pull up the hall of fame.
Re-install civ2 multi : WORKS ! including Scenarios!!!
RE-install patch 1.3 : WORKS !
Anyone else had to reinstall civ after ins scenarios?
