    1550-1740 Julius
    1740-1788 SG[1]
    1788-1839 Paul

Each player plays 25 turns before sending the game to the next player. We are playing as the Japanese on Julius Brenzaida's maxiworld map. The other civs are the Chinese, Sioux, Aztecs, Russians, Germans and Greeks. Game stories and intermediate saves can be found at http://members.home.nl/paulvdbb/occmaxi.htm

Since this is an OCC game we will of course never have more than one city. So make sure to save the game before entering a hut in grass or plains, so that you can reload if you get an advanced tribe. If you are not familiar with the OCC rules you can find them at http://members.home.nl/paulvdb/occ.htm.

First 25 turns played and sent to Smash.

In the year 4000 BC a man named Paul met a tribe calling themselves the Japanese. Paul possessed knowledge of bronze working, iron working and warrior code. The Japanese wanted to have this knowledge and Paul was willing to share if he could become their leader. The Japanese tribe accepted and so began the history of the Japanese civilization.

The first thing Paul did was tell the Japanese to settle in a city so that they could research new advances and build military units, buildings and wonders. So the city of Kyoto was founded.

Paul told his scholars to research alphabet. In the meanwhile the workers of the city started building warriors. In the year 3800 the first warrior was built and sent out to explore the land around Kyoto. 50 Years later Japanese scholars discovered the secret of the alphabet.

Paul told them to direct their research towards map making because he suspected that they were on an island. Two more warriors were built before the scholars found this new knowledge. The workers now started to build a trireme while the scholars directed their efforts towards ceremonial burial.

In 2900 BC the trireme was finished while the brave warriors defended fearlessly against a barbarian invasion. The trireme set out with a warrior on board to seek out new lands and new civilizations and to boldly go where no one had gone before. At the same time Japanese workers started constructing a wonder called the Colossus.

In the year 2750 BC our scholars discovered the knowledge of ceremonial burial and were told by Paul on his deathbed to research the code of laws. Meanwhile the trireme had reached what appeared to be a new land, but Paul died before he could give them further orders, so they anxiously awaited who would be their new leader and what his orders would be.

Game sent to Scouse Gits, both addresses (home and work) with copy to Paul. Everything went well, I think, except for the barbarians. 2 settlers lost to them in the last two reigns !!! The trireme is bringing home a wandering tribe discovered in the time of Kcbob. It is needed for mining ! We’re ahead in science with a strong size 12 republic city. If production was better, “tout irait pour le mieux dans le meilleur des mondes”. The log of my reign follows.

750 BC. King Julius immediately goes for Republic, by the magic of the 4 turns table. He is not very pleased to discover that the none settlers have been killed during the reign of his predecessor. Fortunately some none settlers are wandering by the north of the India Peninsula. But they are a long way from home. Caravan build.
725 BC. Republic. No science is researched as for now, because it is too slow without new improvements. Temple is rushbuild, supported units are destroyed.
700 BC. Barbarian leader captured. Bad news : invention is discovered in a hut. No more scrolls of wisdom. Exploration continues anyway for money and units. Kyoto begins to celebrate WLTPD.
675 BC. None unit gets the airlift to Kyoto thanks for being too close from a Chinese city. I hope it is not a cheat … Barbarians in a hut. Our chariot wins.
650 BC. Bank is build. Two horsemen die from barbarians in huts. More gold added by other huts.
600 BC : settlers are build. We need mines. Two more caravans in Beijing. 132 gold overall.
575 BC. Peace established with the Greeks in Kurdistan. They don’t want to exchange technology. Maybe we’ve got all that they have.
                            550 BC. Colosseum build.
                            500 BC. Aqueduc build.
450 BC. Harbor build. More and more gold from huts, and some Barbarians too.
425 BC. Kyoto reaches size 12, starts building Copernic.
400 BC. Barbarian unrest near Kyoto.
375 BC. Peace established with Russians, on the northern valley of the Volga. As the Greeks they can’t or don’t want to exchange technology.
350 BC. Barbarian malediction goes on ! new settler destroyed and a legion rushing to defend him too. If we lose, it may well be because of the red ones. Copernic is build. Discovery every 6 turns now. We head for philosophy. Knight gets hurried airlift from Thermopylae.
275 BC. Philosophy and Medicine discovered. We head for sanitation.
Oh Man, when will you understand that your greatness lies in your failure - Goethe
