Civ2 under Win98/WinME

Since the only way of solving my current problems with my computer and especially my own modem is to update my operating system to Windows 98 or Windows ME I was wondering if Civ2 FW will run under those systems as smooth as under Windows 95.
Can anyone answer my this?

I don't know about FW, but I have had no problems with 2.42 under Win98. I just got WinME yesterday, so I can't say much about that. I only played a few turns to make sure that it would run.

No problem with Civ II, CiC, FW, or ToT here under Win98, and my Mac emulator doesn't have any problem with Civ I.

I have Windows 98, and I haven't been able to detect any affect on Civ II play.
