  • The AI bribed my capitol city!?

I was on the way to a spaceship landing, and the vikings landed a spy and made rome(my capitol with many wonders in it) revolt!
Fortunately, I had gold to move my palace, and a spy with gold available to take it back.
---I thought this was impossible--- this was 2.42

Were you playing a scenario of some sort? Or a game where the rules were even just a bit "personalized?"

I ask because I've seen it happen at the Emperor level on my games on occasion — Macintosh version.

Gatekeeper (and, hey, one time I had the AI bribe a city with 60 divisions of armor and howizters in it ... don't ask me where they got the money ... cheat, y'know)

I did not think this was possible

Are you using the MAC version? If not what 'tweaks' have you got in place?

Yes, a save would be nice. This couldn't have been a normal game.

I did not think to go back to the autosave. This was a normal game, pc version, no mods, on 2.42. Earlier in the game, I double clicked on a square, and I got a message of some sort of a suystem problem and inviting me to continue or abort. I continued, thinking I could use the autosave, later if needed, but everything seemed normal. This was perhaps 20 or 30 turns earlier.

Well, I was playing a 1-city game once. It was going hard, but I had some 4 wonders in my very big and modern city,
and it was spaceship time, when a (I think it was a viking one as in your case, but I may be wrong) bribed it and destroyed my civ! I was furious.

Interesting. Never ever heard of it before this thread. Now I really want to see a save.

I think I reloaded, spot the spy and destroyed him, and continued the game. so don't count for it.

It happens on the Mac version now and then, too, and only on the Emperor and higher levels.

I'd like to hear of a PC version example, that didn't include a system error during the session.

Could the Spy have sabotaged the Palace?

I did not think this could happen, either. Especially in OCC. We need to see a SAV.
