Oh yes - (2) only plays Civ - but I'm a great games player - I really loved SEIII, found SEIV slightly disappointing - but still play it occasionally

ah ok that explains it then....... sometimes i lose track of who is who and i assume one is your son and one is your daughter...

Scouse Gits (1) do your usually just play TBS? i am looking for a good WW2 strat game....not interested in graphics just good game play .....

i can't for the life of me remember what my buddy used to play so i can't ask you whether or not you liked it but i believe it was more along the lines of reading about casualties...so no actual "visual" conflict occured

I don't recall any text based games of that sort, but there were a set of three? four? games based on hex maps with a level of complexity sufficient to make your hair curl - It was a long time ago, but I recall seeing the whole bundle discounted at amazon? within the last eighteen months which reminded me of the good times I had had with them - if I can get my memory to be more specific I'll get back to you...

{3} is my daughter, (2) a good friend

I have had a hunt - the best I can find at the moment is talonsoft's http://www.talonsoft.com Operational Art of War which looks quite good, but is definitely more modern than the game I had in mind - I'll keep looking ...

                Got them!!!
The games I recall are the V for Victory set by Three Sixty Pacific - the games are individually: Gold Juno Sword; Market Garden; Utah Beach & Velikiye Yuke - the last of which has particularly fond memories for me - All of them (and the OAoW above) are available from the underdog - PM me if you need a link

                Enjoy, SG[1]

Nice nethog, A nice condensed summary.
The tech one is a bit busy

                                MAJOR UPDATE!!

Since my initial post the tech tree has undergone major changes based upon feedback from various folks over at Civ Fanatics as well as here. I have included the revised tech tree in a set of Civ2 reference sheets which I am calling "Nethog's Civ2 Reference Pack". Included is the "1-pager tech tree", a wonders summary, a units summary, combat modifiers, and a terrain conversion chart.

The reference pack is available in a single file, either native PowerPoint or as a PDF ay http://mywebpages.comcast.net/pmm1/games/games.html

Currently, it is in the "beta" stage (beta 0.92 as of today) and I am seeking feedback before its official 1.0 release expected in a week or two. At that point I will start a new thread announcing 1.0 and providing a new location for feedback on the "released" version of the ref pack.
