    I'm 99,99% sure it'll run just fine on WinXP...

    It runs great on Win 2000 and
    WinXP = Win 2000 + extra compatability for Win9x

      Thanx for the help, but one more question. Does Windows 2000 have the installation problems that Win98 has?

        What installation problems with Win98 do you mean?

          When you install Civ 2 on Win98 you have to use Ctrl+Alt+Del to close all other programs(Even Prograsm in Sys Tray) before it will install.

            Hmm, I don't remember having that problem although I used Win98 for over a year... is it documented or did it just happen to you?

              I suppose that trouble is caused by the original 16 bit Civ II.
              UCC works just fine under Win 98 SE, or at least it doesn't
              crash so often.

                IIRC this quirk is caused by the installer for CiC and FW - both 2.42 and MGE install on 98 without this hitch ...
