How long did it take you to really understand Civ2?

      still learning today, after over 2 years of playing, i have never beaten the computer on deity level raging hordes ....

        Go, Rasputin. I didn't even think one could win at Deity, large map, toughest settings. Thought the key was the score. Came here, found that "win" was defined same as the manual. I play all the time. Have "won" three or four times. Was really disappointed to find that the game didn't have a replay, like Civ I. [Wonder, will CIV III?]

          Ditto Chris 62. I learned the basics fairly quickly, but the more I found out, the more there was 2 learn. I read the manual and had a few basics down, but I know I will never master this game. Civilization II is the all-around best game ever produced.
