I shall refrain from making any remarks about The Queen and Aussie politics, and merely ask you to confirm that you already had the prerequisites for the coronation!

Refrain, SG2? Very Methodist of you.

Yep, I started the game with the prerequisite techs. I tipped the hut before I built my first city. So I was, briefly, a Monarchy without citizens.

I've been posting a little here and there, causeing trouble at some other forums.

Devolution is going very well thank you. We have just voted a 21% pay rise for our teachers and free help for old folks regardless of means. Also we have abolished tuition fees. These are all things the English still have to suffer and its really starting to hack them off which is pretty much the project's goal. The best thing is that England has a severe teacher shortage anyway but with the new pay rates in Scotland its not going to get any better.

Yup, I may still be a subject but things are certainly looking up.

I think I saw you in the Olympics doing some swimming things.

Umm, its ironic in that usage?
No... err.... I'm tearing it down from the inside?
Dammit, OK. but I don't bank with them myself, I bank with the non-royal version.

Lets not talk about that anymore. urgh.

Well, not so remarkable than this but I got all monarcy prerequisites as free techs plus some others (6 altogether) and was able to start researching monarchy as my very first tech! World map, deity, starting as English. A small island with Celts 4 squares away. That's why so many free techs!

Yup. It's even possible, under rare circumstances, to have Monarchy as a starting tech. Rare - maybe even very rare - but it happens.
