It would be good to here from those who are going/want to participate what their thoughts are on turn lengths in the democracy game.
Red Front plays from June 41 to around end of 45 which is 4 years by 12 turns approx making 48 turns to play.
If people can post what they would prefer we may be able to set the game rules to ensure it moves along at the decribed pace.
My 2 kopecs worth :
I want to see the end of the game within a year, thus a weekly turn time would be required. This would enable us to set actions to be perfomed on a given 24hr day. EG.
Mon 1st Ukrainian Front turn
Tue 2nd Ukrainian Front turn
Wed Baltic Front
Thur Northwest Front
Fri Belorussian Front
Sat/Sun Armaments Minster then Economic Minister(if quick should be done Saturday.
Sun Marshal plays any moves missed/incomplete and posts new turn.
Propaganda ministery posts news whenever, usually after new turn post ed by Marshal on Sunday night.
Forums for advice/request to commanders/minsters can be posted at any time.
I know time zones differ a bit but over 24 hours everyone will have at least a few hours to grab the file and do their turn.
This way everyone knows what day in advance to make time for the game, with notice people can trade days and in the end the Marshal could play missed turns.
I feel we should be able to commit to this game for one day per week. Gee 1/2 of us would spend 10hr+ per week on games easy.
