What to do with kursk?

now is winter and we have a very good position with the cities west of the done river

I'm planing on holding as many cities as possible during this winter time
the problems comes at summer
what do we do with the cities, do I try to hold them, or I just move away to the defensive line at the don river??

Get them building as many red armies as possible.

In the mean time maintain the defenses of the Don.

If they hold during the summer of 42, you are home free. You can them move up the Don river defenses and go on an offensive.

if you hold the cities west of the Don through winter, it would give you a chance to lay minefields in key areas near the cities on the Don

No NO

MineFEILDS, not Mines Like placing a minefeild in front of Voronezh, see the attached picture. We would have to get you a labor brigade to build a minefeild

You have to use a labor brigade, that is the only "worker" unit that can do it.

It reduces the defense strenght of the defending units, so if a bunch of germans are on top of the minefeild it reduces there defense strenght. I cant remeber by how much it maybe in the civilopedia.

So next summer if those cities fall (Kursk,ect) and Voronezh comes under seige you can set up a little "Trap" for the Germans!
