Commander's Report for September 1948
New forces in Theater
-Veteran WW1 Artillery built at Haderah
-WW2 Artillery purchased from Europe
-Zion Worker lands in Haifa transported by ship from Europe.
Tantura connected to Tel-Aviv Railroad!
Travel from Haifa to Tel Aviv still takes two turns
With 1 Zion Worker I can get immigrants to Tel-Aviv in one turn in 4 turns. With 2 Zion Workers devoted to railroading I can do it in 2 turns. (Disclaimer: units will only have 1/5 movement point after the additional railroad work.)
Jordanian Fanatic thwarted outside Degania.
A Jordanian Fanatic was stopped outside Degania by a patrol from the 25th Machine Gun regiment. Casulties were heavier than expected but the men of the 45th were victorious.
Israeli Artillery masses around Haifa.
The new artillery regiments given to Home Front this month moved north from Haderah along the newly completed railroad to Tantura and then struck out for Haifa by road and are currently southwest of the city.
[b]Home Front's MAG (Mobile Army Group) composed of the 3rd and 14th Machine Gun regiments and the 8th and 11th Artillery regiments moved into the liberated city of Nazareth in preperation for further advances. Several soldiers commented on how nice the city is and expressed their desire to move there. 3rd Machine Gun and 11th Artillery are now based out of Nazareth
Immigrants Arrive From Eureope!
The Freighter Zion docked in Haifa under a large naval escort bringing in many immigrants and also a battalion of Zion Workers. The zion workers immediately began prebuilding a fortress outside of Haifa for transport to near Jenin in October
The ineffectiveness of the Palestinian's Campaign
The latest efforts of the Palestinians in Home Front's Sector are laughable at best. Their forces move about with no direction and piecemeal. a WW1 artillery regiment (similar in combat effectiveness to the 11th Artillery Regiment in equipment) has been spotted moving alone towards Tantura. Even my 4 year old son could successfully command the garrison in Tantura against this enemy "threat."
Yet another Arab Legion has been spotted south west of Beth Shean. Like the French Legions of World War 2, this one will prove to be just as ineffective.
Home Front troops morale at all time high
With zero casulties being recorded in the last two months against the Palestinians and Jordanians and several effective missions occuring, most notably the capture of Nazareth, troop morale has risen to new levels unheard of before in this command. It is also believed that morale is being boosted by the arrival of new regiments and the planning for continued offensive actions into the West Bank.

Ehm, HTower, yes, immigrants are controlled by the immigration ministry, and Zion workers are assigned by the CoS once they are landed and economy and defence decides they don't need 'em.

The one in Tantura is under your command. Did you read the grand strategy thread, btw? Zion workers are connecting the non-right-up-front cities.
Here's the best thing for your railroad strategy though, you don't lose a single turn of zion worker work if you tell me he can only be used for railroads. Next turn just move him to the approriate spot and build the railroad in one turn.

so assign them at the begining of the turn then, were you going to move the ship into Haifa at the end of the turn, hit the spacebar for the worker and say, "Home Front, you have a new zion worker in Haifa waiting for you? This is the same thing as when I complained about reinforcements being purchased after they may come in handy for the commander that gets them. I remember playing Red Front and having the turn player move reinforcements up as soon as they are built, I look at the current situation and see wasted opportuity.
I've seen a remarkable lack of efficiency in several key areas of the game and I've been frustrated by it. You have two Zion Workers building railroad along the coast, but do you double them up to get instant railroad section every turn? No, you leave them apart and get 2 railroad sections after 2 turns. Costing you movement points you didn't have to lose. I look in Haifa and see that shields are being used in upkeep of units that are sitting in cities that aren't supporting any units and can support several units before costing us production. I look in Netanyah and see that the Palmach needs only 4 shields to finish building and 7 shields are being produced when it is possible to get the production down to 4 and produce more food. I look in old turn threads and see that improvements aren't being sold in cities that are about to fall and see that some of our ministers are not diliegent in their work. I look in Jewish Nicosia and see that a training camp is being built. I look in Haifa and see a training camp is being built. Does anyone else realize that we have the equivalent of Sun Tzu's??? All units are created as veterans! the only use of a barracks is to repair a unit in one turn. What good does a brracks do in Jewish Nicosia? Granted I could understand building a training camp in Haifa to produce veteran units. But what's the point in putting one in Jewish Nicosia? I look around and see inefficiency everywhere I go and get frustrated.
